Empathy Café & Bistro – newest place to try, and to return
Posted by Mia Balogh · Aug 17, 2018

Newest charity café and community centre of Budapest opened in Arany János Street.

Would you like to drink a really good coffee at a nice place, and, in the meantime, also support a good cause? If yes, try Empathy Café & Bistro, opened recently at the ground floor of the headquarters of the Hungarian Red Cross (31 Arany János Street).

The newly opened spot offers specialty coffee (purchased from László Bányai, a Hungarian man living in Costa Rica) and of course nice food: three types of ‘DOP lángos’ will be available here – it is something between the Hungarian streetfood ‘lángos’ and the Roman pizza. If you buy anything, you support the Hungarian Red Cross’ work, aims and mission.

Furthermore, this spot is also a community centre - where socially important questions can be discussed regularly -, and an environmentally friendly place, too: they refuse to use plastic and will offer filtered water (also with Magnesium) instead of drinks in PET bottles.

We think this is absolutely a great initiative and can’t wait to return. ;)
