HUNGARIAN CHOCOLATE ON TOP AGAIN
Posted by Eszter Hermann · Aug 18, 2014

Earlier this year, we were lucky to report that Raffinée, one of the high-quality chocolate product lines of chocoMe won the prestigious A’ Design Award in Italy. It’s time for celebration again; the Hungarian company got awarded, this time, for taste.

Great Taste Award founded in 1994 is the largest and most prestigious awards scheme for fine food and drink. It is often referred to as the ‘Oscars’ of the food world. The Great Taste logois the sign you can trust when buying food and drink, and now, this logo can be put on 3 chocoMe products. Not for the first time, though. Competing products can receive a 1 to 3 star rating, 3 being the best. Last year, two new chocoMe products received 1 star at the Great Taste Award.

The products entering the competition are strictly evaluated by a jury of 400 professionals who spend several hours blind-tasting food during the event. Therefore the contest is purely about taste, without any marketing and package designs. Among others, there are Michelin Star winning masterchefs and restaurant critics sitting in the jury.

At the 2014 culinary contest in London three chocoMe products received this incredible professional recognition. One creation, the Raspberry Raffinée, part of the Raffinée brand nominated in 2013 now received a 2-star rating and two chocolate bars were awarded with 1 star. One of them is 65% dark chocolate with cinnamon, pecans, pistachio and cranberry, the other one is white chocolate with freeze-dried raspberry, freeze-dried sour cherry and cranberry (– just to make your mouth water).

„We think it is a really innovative, balanced concept that looks artisanal and tastes really good. A really interesting idea. Bright, inviting, an intriguing idea.” These are among many other words of praise, that was one sentence the judges said about one of the chocoMe chocolates.
