Hauer confectionary to reopen soon
Posted by Mia Balogh · Aug 3, 2017

It is not the first time when somebody tries to reopen this legendary confectionary but we hope that this time it can be a successful restart.

After some minimal renovation, the legendary Hauer confectionary reopens its gates again. We say ‘again’ because in the history of the spot, there was already a renovation and reopening in 2002 (before that, it was closed for 10 years). But after a couple of years, it was closed again.

Well, we really hope that this time, it will be a successful restart. The place reopens in August and waits for old and new customers with the following prices: various cakes made locally will cost from 2.5 euros (790 forints) to 3 euros (1000 Ft), cappuccinos will cost about 2 euros (590 Ft), coffee 1.6 euros (490 Ft). Two of their most significant cakes will be available again, these are the Hauer-cremeschnitte and the marzipan-pineapple cake.

We think that Hauer confectionary’s reopening can be successful this time, because the city has changed a lot in the past few years and several hotels were opened in the same neighbourhood. In addition to this, Opera House will be renovated so they move to Erkel Theatre which is very close to Hauer confectionary. And what can be better than a cake before a nice opera or theatre performance? ;)
