There is an exceptional and secret event series called Diner en Blanc about which only the most privileged heard. At first sight we’d think it’s some kind of wedding party but the truth is much more exciting. Diner en Blanc is a secret picnic, a flashmob if you wish, where everyone have to wear white clothes. Budapest is home to this year's event on 3 September, but the exact venue is still unknown.

The world's most elegant picnic has 30 years of history and it’s almost impossible get in. The system works by invitation and if you don’t have any friends in the Diner en Blanc community, your only hope is the waiting list of several thousand people. If you do manage to get in, the principles are the same from the beginnings: you, the guest have to bring your own white table and tableware to the venue. Everyone can bring a plus one and you have to take care of your own food. It’s also important that if your registration had been confirmed, the participation is mandatory, even in bad weather conditions.

I can’t even imagine such an event (why is it so great, for example?) but the secrecy definitely has served its purpose. I would do almost anything to see this secret picnic! More information here if you want to tantalize yourself.
