One of the most beautiful cafés in Budapest reopens

Elegance, luxury and of course delicious coffee and cakes are waiting for us again in the beautiful historical café at Lotz Hall on Andrássy Avenue.

If you have already been to the Párisi Nagyáruház (Paris Department Store) on Adrássy Avenue, you might remember that there was a bookshop inside, and also a beautiful café where you could enjoy a coffee and/or a cake under paintings and murals from the 19th century.

Maybe you read that the bookshop closed, and also the café was abandoned in 2017. Luckily, it was not for forever: it reopened recently and attracts tourists and locals to visit the Lotz Hall and to enjoy some of their delicacies.

The department store was built between 1909 and 1911, but this hall which is decorated by Károly Lotz’s murals is older. It is the remain of an old casino from 1884 – Daily News Hungary writes.
