Budapest Nightlife Awards have been awarded for the first time this year and it reveals the best places of the city. Places you should not miss, in 12 categories.

Nightlife of Budapest has shown such an explosive growth in the last 5 years that it’s impossible to track changes of the latest and greatest places. Much less to choose among them. The residents have the possibility to try out all of the bars and clubs, week after week, but if you spend only a few days in the Hungarian capital, we’re sure you would be happy to hear some tips.

Thanks to the first Budapest Nightlife Awards now you get a pretty good hint. City dwellers voted for their favorite bars and pubs and here comes the results. More than 100 registrants attended to the contest, more than 12 000 votes were cast, and more than 5,000 people voted. The best places according to the youth of Budapest are the following:

Best wine bar: DiVino, Doblo, Apropó

Best craft beer pub: Léhűtő, Bestia

Best outdoor place: Budapest Park, Raqpart, Fröccsterasz

Best concert venue: Akvárium, Budapest Park, Barba Negra Music Club

Best pub: Aznap, Telep, Liebling

Best ruin pub: Anker’t, Fogasház, Instant

Best bar: Raktár Bár, Badgirlz, Bob

Best gay-friendly place: Anker’t, Tütü, Kiosk
