On top of this, the picture is quite a special one; the photographer used a simple device, a pinhole camera. Csaba Kovács has used pinholes for years; this type of camera doesn’t have a lens but a single, small aperture, a pinhole. It’s basically a light-proof box with a hole on it. The photo is taken by light passing through this point and projecting an inverted image on the opposite side of the box.

This method seems easy, but can take a lot of time; this particular picture was shot for 45 days during the winter of 2013 at Dunakeszi Airport. It deoicts the journey of the Sun, it captures an Antonov AN-2 airplane with the rising and setting of the Sun. The Sun movement draws an amazing line on the sky that gets higher as winter solstice passes.
