Old and new faces of Budapest unite on amazing collages

We can see the city as never before, owing to Márton Dombóvári’s fantastic collages, which are merging the past and the present, old and new faces of Budapest.

Budapest is an extraordinary capital, where the past and the present merge beautifully. If you take a walk in the city, you can see the historical and architectural diversity of the place, old buildings and railway lines next to newly-built offices and edifices. The past and the present blend into each other in Budapest, and that’s what we can see on Márton Dombóvári’s collages, too.

On these perfectly manipulated collages, we can see the contrast of the old and new Budapest, as well, just like the changes of public transport vehicles, roads, fashion, bridges over the Danube, and so on. It is really interesting to take a look at these photos, and we are sure that meanwhile observing them, you will forget about time.

“My goal is to merge old photos of Budapest with the present, so the past can get a little bit closer to us. I do never give out the date of the old pictures, because they were made in a wide interval, from the early years of 1900 to the Eighties” – Márton Dombóvári writes on his Facebook page ‘Budapest régen és most’.

We love his works – here you can see some of them.
