Wizz Air will launch flights to seven new destinations from Debrecen, and they also increase the frequency of two popular flights.

Good news for all those who would like to arrive directly to the eastern part of Hungary or leave the country from here: Wizz Air will launch new flights from Debrecen quite soon. The company will add another Airbus A320 to their fleet based in the East-Hungarian city so they will have the possibility to reach more destinations and also to increase the frequency of some popular flights.

New destinations include Dortmund, Basel, Doncaster/Sheffield and Barcelona – flights will start mid-December –, and Larnaca, Palma de Mallorca and Malta, with flights from March 2019.

Besides the new routes, the frequency of the flights to Tel Aviv and Paris Beauvais will be increased. It means that from 2019, there will be 16 more flights per week leaving Debrecen Airport.

According to portfolio.hu, Wizz Air launched its first flight from there in 2012. With this recent announcement, the company’s investment in its Debrecen base will exceed 200 million dollars and it will offer around 600 thousand seats on 14 flights reaching 11 countries by 2019.
