Scenes of Avatar 2 to be shot in Budapest

After the incredible success story of Avatar in 2009, the first sequel of the movie is coming soon – some scenes are to be shot in our capital city.

We already know that Hollywood blockbuster Avatar will get some sequels, but we only read recently that some scenes of Avatar 2 will reportedly be shot in Budapest.

A well-known Hungarian stunt expert, Gábor Pindroch told Bors.hu not long ago that he is working on two movies in Hollywood and one of these is Avatar 2. ‘I am arranging the working environment for the staff in Budapest’ – he said. You might have heard his name already: Gábor managed the action scenes in the movie Inferno for example, in which Tom Hanks played the starring role.

The director of the multi-award-winning production Avatar, James Cameron has started to shoot the sequel to his 2009 blockbuster in October, and is in fact planning to make a total of four films.

Cameron thinks that those who loved the first movie will feel the same way with the sequels, as well. The movies are set to be released between 2021 and 2025 – 24.hu writes. We don’t know a lot of details about the story, but we suppose that the events will occur on planet Pandora where the environment and the spirituality still remain important.

In addition to Sam Worthington (Jake Sully) and Zoe Saldana (Neytiri) – who played the main characters in the previous movie – Sigourney Weaver (playing Dr. Grace Augustine) and Stephen Lang (who will reprise his role as Colonel Miles Quaritch) will also return.

And there will be a world famous newcomer in Avatar 2: Kate Winslet will get a role in the film, too. If we are lucky enough, maybe we can spot her in the streets of Budapest very soon! ;)

A short teaser trailer for the upcoming movie is already available, check it out here:
