Every year, there is a big competition in Hungary called Spa of the Year – ‘Az év fürdője’ – internet users can vote the spa of the year. In 2019, the winner is the Harkányi Gyógy- és Strandfürdő (Spa and Waterpark of Harkány). This spa offers opportunities for recreation to every age group with its parks, slides, spa, and waterpark – 24.hu writes.

The Hungarospa of Hajdúszoboszló, a regular participant of the competition year by year was ranked to be the second and the third place is taken by the spa of Zalakaros. The spa of Makó called ‘Hagymatikum’ was also awarded as the aspiring bath of the year, and the waterpark of Miskolctapolca was ranked first in the category called ‘the favourite spa of locals’.

Last year, the Szent Erzsébet Spa of Mórahalom was the absolute winner of the spa of the year competition, which was a huge surprise because it is a great but less known spa. The aspiring spa of the year was the spa of Gyopárosfürdő and the locals’ favourite was the lido of Tiszavasvári.
