Christmas is coming sooner and sooner every year, at least in the decoration, the Christmas sale and the Christmas markets. The biggest fair of Budapest is now open – sooner than ever before: the Christmas tree is set, the booths are ready, and the fair opened at Vörösmarty square.

The market has the same things to do and eat as in the previous years: the well-known gastronomic offer of mulled wine, sausage and gingerbread, concerts, folk crafts and many other things to buy. And as usual, Joulupukki, the real Santa Claus, will also be visiting the event on December 6.

The only difference is that visitors has bigger place to enjoy the fair thanks to the recently completed renovation of the square. The fair is open until 1 January according to the opening hours below:

• Sunday to Thursday 10 am - 8 pm
• on Fridays and Saturdays from 10 am to 9 pm
• Christmas Eve 10 am to 2 pm
• On the two days of Christmas: 12am to 6pm.
