Kornél Mundruczó's name is probably familiar with many of you. He’s one of the most famous contemporary Hungarian directors, and his new film, Pieces of a Woman has been chosen to the competition program of this year's 77th Venice International Film Festival. This means, the festival will be the world premiere of the director's first foreign-made, English-language work.

Kornél Mundruczó, who is world-renowned for his film and theater work, has his seventh feature film with Pieces of a Woman, that tells the story of the consequences of a tragic home birth in Boston. As the young mother’s (Vanessa Kirby) grief shakes her entire family, the woman chooses her own path in which she not only learns to live with her loss, but also becomes able to move on.

The screenplay is the work of Kata Wéber, based on her own multi-award winning play. The music was composed by the world-renowned Oscar-winning composer, Howard Shore. The protagonists of the film are Vanessa Kirby and Shia LeBeouf, but Oscar-winning Ellen Burstyn, Molly Parker, Iliza Schleizinger, Benny Safdie and Sarah Snook also have their roles.
