If I have to name only one famous chef, who is my absolute favorite, whose meals are heavenly, who is charismatic and normal, a person we can look up to because he’s not a conceited gastro-snob, that’s Jamie Oliver. You can imagine how pleased I was, when the news came: a Jamie's Italian, the most famous restaurant chain of the celebrity chef will open soon in Hungary. There are 40 restaurants based on Jamie’s guidelines and recipes in Great Britain, but the expansion has just begun in the continental Europe.

The reason of the popularity is none other than that the favorite chef of the Englishmen didn’t go to the direction of the hardly affordable and cumbersome fine dining, but realizes the line that he conveys in his cookbooks. They make fairly casual, affordable meals, but from very good quality ingredients. Jamie’s Italian restaurant chain conquers with its high quality, simple, clean and affordable dishes and a friendly, relaxed atmosphere in every single place. On the menu there are dishes which can also be found in Italy, taking care of the perfection.

The Jamie's Italian brand will be brought to Hungary by Zsidai Group, who has to comply with serious standards. The interior design of the restaurant will be dreamed by Jamie’s interior designers and a lot of requirements are imposed on raw materials too: everything has to be completely GMO-free (this is easy to fulfill in Hungary, because our Constitution includes GMO exemption), meat can be taken only from breeder who has proven not to use antibiotics, furthermore, all the raw material must come from sustainable sources.

The chef – who will be selected by the Hungarian owner - is likely to be a Hungarian cook, but Jamie has the final word and the chef must take part in an eight-week training course in London to learn the secrets. They can cook only from Jamie’s recipes, but there will be daily menus next to the fix one: the chef's creations may appear on this list, but only after it has been approved in London. In the Hungarian unit there will be a show kitchen and a breathtaking terrace besides the freshly prepared pastas.
