Hello Tersus!

The boat called Tersus can be the best friend of all those who care about the environment: it helps keep the Danube clean.

As far as I know, the disposal of waste has always been a big problem at the Danube, because a lot of things are thrown into the river from the cruise ships, restaurant boats and floating clubs. But now this problematic situation gets much easier, thanks to the waste-collection vessel Tersus: it is cruising on the river and collects garbage from the water surface.

The waste then arrives into one of the boat’s containers and will be transported and emptied later. The waste-collection vessel is a remodeled Dutch warship, can carry more than a dozen (12-16) of 770-liter containers at a time. These containers are located in the belly of the boat so tourists and locals will only see an ordinary looking boat on the Danube.

But we are already sure that everyone will like Tersus who thinks that the protection of our environment is getting more and more important. This project can make Budapest an example for other cities along the Danube. Actually, the only other city where the garbage is being collected in a similar way is Amsterdam.
